A band called Flora & Paris is the brainchild of three members of the famous Slovenian band Orlek. After many years of being involved in music, a desire for more independent creation and a different sound was born in them. Thus, in the middle of 2012, the musical ideas of Jure Tori and Mate Felet began to be arranged. Six months later, when Mitja Tori is in charge of the bass guitar, they got in touch with singer Flora Emo Lotric, also known from the Eurovision Mission. After presenting their music videos and ideas, they acquired percussionist and drummer Blaz Celarac, as well as saxophonist Tjaja Perigoj. Due to Flora’s study obligations abroad, the boys were joined by a new singer, Patricia Bishop. Since mid-2016 he has been the singer of the Jean Libnik band from Slovenj Gradec. Jean was a finalist for the TV show Slovenia a year ago with talent and is also known as the “golden button” of Ana KlaĆĄnja. The band was joined by new drummer Peter Jeretina from Zagorje, a student of the Celje Secondary Music School. From the very beginning, the sound of the group emphasizes the acoustic sound as much as possible, since it is the most pleasing to the human ear, while allowing a great deal of room for dynamics and strength in expression. Musically, they try to combine the incompatible many times – the quality of artistic expression and obedience, and consequently commercial success. Emphasis in their music has distinctive melodies and a rich harmonic base, in short to evoke a modern acoustic sound, both arrangement and sound. The genre contains elements of pop music, jazz and ethno. At present, there is a lack of musical ideas and authenticity in music in the Slovenian music environment, so they are convinced that they will positively influence the audience as well as other musicians and perhaps encourage more such creativity among others. The texts are drawn from several authors who most often write the lyrics according to a pre-made tune. Primarily, the texts are Slovenian because their purpose is to show the verbal richness and specificity of the Slovenian language.
